Es war ein ikonischer Sommer 2020 in Belarus. Hunderttausende protestierten gegen die gefälschten Präsidentschaftswahlen. Die Hoffnung auf ein demokratisches Belarus war überall im Land spürbar. Doch Diktator Lukaschenka ließ die friedlichen Proteste blutig niederschlagen. Folter und Repression sind heute trauriger Alltag.

Trotzdem gibt die belarusische Demokratiebewegung nicht auf. Zu stark ist der Wunsch nach Freiheit. Davon erzählen auch die eindrucksvollen Briefe von weiblichen politischen Gefangenen. Über diese unglaubliche Widerstandskraft und unsere Unterstützung wollen wir mit Euch und Ihnen reden.

It was an iconic summer of 2020 in Belarus. Hundreds of thousands of Belarusians protested against the rigged presidential elections. The hope for a democratic Belarus spread throughout the country. But dictator Lukashenka violently cracked down on the peaceful protests. Today, torture and repression are tragically commonplace.

Despite this, the Democratic forces of Belarus are not giving up. The hope for freedom is too strong. The impressive letters from female political prisoners speak volumes of this hope. We want to make this incredible resilience visible and talk about our support.
